Executive Chef Edwin Cruz started his career in 1990 at the Hyatt Westlake Plaza. His belief was that there is nothing out of reach if you dedicate yourself earnestly. With his strong determination and dedication to his craft, he swiftly worked his way up in the ranks from a cook’s apprentice, to a Sous Chef, eventually becoming Chef De Cuisine at Vines restaurant at the Hyatt Valencia. Over the years, he had the opportunity to work with many talented chefs who all contributed to his successful culinary expertise.

In August of 2006, Edwin joined the team at the Westlake Village Inn as the Executive Chef for Mediterraneo restaurant. His goal was to elevate the dining experience to a new level offering seasonal cuisine from local vendors, consistency in service levels and improve the quality of each guests dining experience. Edwin takes great pride in creating new and exciting dishes. Chef Edwin is incomparable when it comes to his cuisine for large banquet events; he is now responsible for overseeing all Corporate and Social events including weddings, anniversaries and executive retreats. He also provides the guests with delectable in room dining, as well as tasty cuisine for the ever popular Bogie’s bar.

Chef Edwin’s culinary talents continue to delight the palates of the many guests who frequent the Inn year round.
